Snow piled on the low side of a lot melts back across the pavement and freezes again, so he stacks it where the melt runs away and not into the drive or at a door. On stone drives he keeps the blade set to skim rather than dig, because a blade dropped into gravel takes your stone out into the yard and you find it in the spring.

He clears to the edges rather than leaving a foot of snow on each side, because that band is what melts and refreezes across the drive. On a lot he opens the parking and the doors first, then squares up the rest, and keeps walk lines and door aprons clear so nobody steps over a pile to get in.
